Fairisle, Method 3

chart

Black squares indicate CC, white squares indicate MC

Reading from the chart, pull all CC needles for row 1 of pattern to HP. Keep both Side Levers (rear pair) in the backwards position, place Russel Levers in backwards position also. With MC in carriage, K across. The needles in WP knit MC, while the HP needles do not knit, and remain in the extended position.

carriage1
Release the carriage and replace it on the original side of the bed. Place Russel Levers in forward position, Side Levers also in forward position. Thread carriage with CC and knit across.

carriage1
This time the HP needles knit the CC, and WP needles slip. All needles are back in WP after knitting. Repeat from beginning of Method 2 instructions for each new row on chart. The main differences between methods 1 and 2 are that with method 1, you set all 4 levers one time, leave them on these settings throughout, but must reset the HP needles for each separate color of each row before knitting. With method 2 you reset the levers for each color, but only need to select the CC needles one time for each row. All four levers are in backward position when knitting MC, and all four levers are in forward position when knitting CC.
